RESPONSIBLY PRODUCED SOY
ROSE Poulty's goal is to use 100% responsibly produced soy in the feed for our chickens by 2025 at the latest. The soy must be third-party verified, responsible, and deforestation-free.
Soy is one of the world's most cultivated crops today. It is an important protein source in livestock feed.
Back in 2014, the HKFoods group decided to increase our use of responsible soy and became a member of the Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS). RTRS establishes principles, criteria, and third-party audits to ensure that national and regional laws are followed in relation to the cultivation of soy.
100% responsibly produced soy by 2025
To strengthen the commitment in the area, we joined the Danish Alliance for Responsible Soy in the summer of 2020. The vision of the alliance is that all soy imported to Denmark must be responsibly produced and not contribute to deforestation.
In 2021, the Danish team has also signed an agreement with DAKOFO, which is a trade association for the grain and feed trade in Denmark and a member of the European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (FEFAC).
In relation to signing these agreements, we updated all processes for our Danish department to ensure that all soy used in our poultry feed in Denmark is responsible in 2025. This means that all soy must be physically traceable and positively benchmarked in relation to FEFAC's "Soy Sourcing Guidelines".
